Council of Australian Secondary Tourism Teachers (SA Chapter)
is a professional association for secondary teachers of Tourism and Hospitality.

CASTT aims to:

  • Provide a forum and common meeting ground for secondary Tourism, Hospitality and Vocational Educators

  • Promote an improved information flow linking secondary educators with post school educators and trainers, government bodies and Tourism / Hospitality industry

  • Allow for an expression of a common voice on educational matters in the interests of secondary teachers of Tourism and Hospitality, and greater co-operation and understanding between them, industry bodies and personnel from businesses within the Tourism and Hospitality industries, relevant government bodies and post secondary educators and trainers

 Professional Learning 

CASTT professional learning in 2012 will take on a new look.  A series of training sessions will be offered. The introductory training will occur on February 25th at Adelaide Oval. In week 5 of each term there will be a tourism and hospitality skills based training session held at Pembroke School, Kensington- Details below. Additional Hospitality-focus workshops will be announced at the CASTT Training Day on February 25th.

  • Knowledge development and understanding of tourism and hospitality drivers enable teachers to delivery relevant SACE curriculum. 
  • Become well-informed by attending this training day which will focus on contemporary tourism development: Case Study- Adelaide Oval- How will Major Redevelopment Impact on Tourism & Hospitality? 
  • Learn how are major events catered for? 
  • Explore the new and emerging tourism and hospitality markets? 
  • Enhance skills you need to thrive as a tourism and / or Hospitality educator?
